Work site environment - Outdoors - At heights - Confined spaces - Noisy - Dangerous - Dusty - Cold/refrigerated - Hot Work setting - Urban area - Remote location - Waterways - Rural area - Construction site Responsibilities Tasks - Perform pre-operational inspection - Read blueprints to determine work requirements - Clean and pile salvaged materials - Perform routine maintenance work - Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants - Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites - Direct traffic at or near construction sites - Transport material and tools to and from work areas - Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products - Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials - Assist in routine maintenance and repair of equipment - Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment - Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of real estate infrastructures including machinery, equipment and electrical and mechanical systems - Assist in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures - Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system - Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools - Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment - Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems - Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings - Support the mining advancement by extending and installing air and water pipes or operating ore loading machinery - Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems - Maintain and repair water well pumps, piping systems and equipment - Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems - Assist other processing workers in the maintenance and repair of various pulp and paper machines and equipment Experience and specialization Types of systems - Plumbing, cold water and drain lines Sales experience - Construction materials, tools and equipment Additional information Security and safety - Criminal record check Transportation/travel information - Willing to travel - Willing to travel regularly - Valid driver's licence - Public transportation is available Work conditions and physical capabilities - Fast-paced environment - Work under pressure - Physically demanding - Tight deadlines - Manual dexterity - Repetitive tasks - Handling heavy loads - Attention to detail - Hand-eye co-ordination - Overtime required - Sound discrimination - Sitting Weight handling - Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) Personal suitability - Accurate - Client focus - Dependability - Efficient interpersonal skills - Excellent oral communication - Flexibility - Reliability - Team player - Hardworking
