Job Description
To provide journeyman level skill in the installation and review of all types of plumbing systems; provide skills in the area of plumbing, electrical maintenance/repair to plumbing equipment; responsible for performing tasks in a specific area. Install and repair all plumbing in new construction or remodeling. May also serve as a lead plumber to a small crew.
Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Journeyman plumber license in the State of Texas.
3-5 years of related experience.
3 years in a lead position.
Must have a valid Texas Driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Education and Experience
Vocational/Technical Diploma
TCEQ Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs service calls and work orders submitted by departments within the University, work could be performed off ladders, roof tops, or scaffolding; also responsible for keeping records of work and preventative maintenance logs.
Troubleshoots plumbing system problems following detailed operational and maintenance procedures of existing and new plumbing systems installations. Also overseeing training of less qualified workers while performing tasks.
Surveys buildings and performs maintenance on equipment in a multi-trade working environment.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Perform all work in accordance with best safety management practices.
Must be available for on call and emergency repairs as needed and performs all other duties as assigned.
Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and an acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4.
