Duties
Installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in commercial and residential settings
Diagnosing plumbing issues using specialised tools and techniques
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to complete tasks effectively
Performing heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely
Conducting routine inspections to ensure plumbing systems meet safety standards and regulations
Assisting with assembly of plumbing components during new installations or renovations
Ensuring all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations
Maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used
Skills
Proficiency in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance techniques
Experience with welding, carpentry, and assembly tasks related to plumbing systems
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for plumbing work
Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and estimations
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Knowledge of commercial driving regulations for transporting materials or equipment when necessary
Familiarity with basic construction principles such as carpentry and assembly processes
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good organisational skills to manage multiple projects effectively
