This is an unpaid volunteer position. The expected time commitment is approximately 5 hours a week, or 20 hours a month. Some on-site work will be necessary.
About Us
The Brain Injury Association of Peel and Halton (BIAPH) is a non-profit organization which advocates for the needs and provides information to survivors of Acquired Brain Injuries, their families and support network. We facilitate measures to promote the prevention of brain injury, improve quality/care of life, provide community education, and conduct resource searches on behalf of our members.
Our MindMatters podcast is a new initiative based on our long-running blog of the same name (see ). Our goal is to engage guests with knowledge and/or lived and living experience with acquired brain injury – as survivors, caregivers, professionals, and researchers. We will be discussing various aspects of acquired brain injury and posting episodes online every month.
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and creative Podcast Producer to manage the full production process, from pre-production planning to post-production editing. The successful candidate will work closely with hosts, guests, and other team members to ensure high-quality audio, engaging content, and timely episode releases.
The successful candidate will join our Youth Engagement Team, comprised of volunteers between the ages of 18-30 years who are interested in supporting a great cause while building a diverse professional skill set and network of contacts in the non-profit and health sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Manage recording, editing, and publishing of podcast episodes
Record and/or direct remote and in-studio sessions
Edit audio for clarity, pacing, and sound quality; add music, transitions, and sound design as needed
Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to promote each episode
Create promotional edits for social media
Qualifications
Strong storytelling instincts and communication skills
Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
Experience with video and/or audio editing and production
Proficiency with audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity, Hindenburg, Pro Tools, or Descript)
Knowledge of setting up mics and cameras virtually (i.e., via Zoom)
Bonus Skills
Knowledge of podcast hosting platforms (e.g., Libsyn, Anchor, Spotify for Podcasters)
Strong interest in social media strategy and content creation
