To give you a flavour of the kind of work you will do you can read one of our Cabinet papers.

The successful candidate will work on regulatory amendments, develop policy options for a potential new legislative regime administered by Corrections, and work on a broad range of criminal justice policy issues. This will include reviewing complex policies developed by other agencies on a wide variety of subjects. In the past, for example, our policy unit has responded to proposals relating to youth offenders, sentencing of offenders, prisoner voting, Policing changes, cross-government anti-terrorism legislation, organised crime, and immigration settings.
