About Us
Lutheran Homes Group (LHG) is a leading not-for-profit provider of home and community support, residential care and retirement living services for senior Australians. With over 1,300 dedicated employees and volunteers, we deliver personalised care across South Australia and regional Victoria, empowering older Australians to live with dignity and choice. Committed to quality care, innovation, and staff development, we are proud of our rich history and values, and we continually strive to grow while making a positive impact in the lives of those we support.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our newly established Risk & Compliance team and play a key role in strengthening governance across LHG. As our Policy Coordinator, you will lead the administration, maintenance and continuous improvement of LHG’s policy framework and central policy library.
You’ll ensure policies are current, compliant and aligned with legislative, regulatory and quality standards, while supporting policy owners across the organisation to draft, review and update their documents. Your work will help embed consistency, clarity and good governance practices across all business areas.
In this role, you will:
Develop and manage the central policy library, including version control, review schedules and approval workflows.
Transition existing policies from CompliSpace to our new governance platform.
Monitor policy review cycles and provide progress reporting to the Executive and Board.
Edit and qualitycheck policies to ensure they meet organisational standards.
Support and coach policy owners as they develop or revise policies.
Coordinate communication and rollout of new or updated policies across the organisation.
Identify opportunities to improve policy processes, accessibility and consistency.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support good governance and compliance awareness.
This role suits someone who enjoys working with structure and detail, provides clear and practical guidance, and can engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels. You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team where your work has a direct and visible impact.
About You
You are an exceptional writer and detailfocused professional with experience managing policy frameworks or compliance systems in a complex organisation. You understand governance, quality and compliance requirements and can confidently support and coach policy owners across different disciplines. You bring strong judgement, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work with sensitive information discreetly.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Highlevel writing, editing and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Experience working with policy governance frameworks, review cycles and approval processes.
The ability to interpret legislation, standards and policies and apply them practically.
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
Excellent time management and the ability to balance competing priorities.
Confidence working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Knowledge of governance systems or platforms for policy management.
Experience in aged care, health or community services, and tertiary qualifications in governance, business, policy or a related field are desirable but not essential.
Candidates may be subject to a pre-employment medical assessment with the successful candidate requiring current NDIS worker clearance. In accordance with current health guidelines for the aged care sector, candidates are encouraged to have all recommended vaccinations.
