The Conservative Group is seeking a political assistant.

This is a part-time post of three days per week.

The position will involve a mix of home and office-based working, plus some evening attendance at meetings (virtual and in person).

Key responsibilities will include:-

Supporting and advising the group on key developments

Research, monitoring and information on local issues

Appraising group leadership of significant issues being considered by officers

Supporting group members with information, advice and complex casework issues

Providing reports and briefings as requested by group leadership

Drafting and issuing press releases and preparing replies to routine correspondence

General administration and support duties

Please note that this is a politically restricted post under the Local Government Act 1989.
