A career as a Portfolio Manager within the Commercial and Private Banking 1859 team means serving as a senior subject‑matter expert in credit analysis and complex real estate financing structuring.
You are involved in large‑scale or highly complex transactions, supporting Account Managers in structuring, negotiating, and managing risks within their portfolios.
Through the depth of your experience, your strong understanding of real estate dynamics, and your solid knowledge of commercial financing, you play a key role in maintaining portfolio quality and supporting informed credit decision‑making.
Your role:
Together with your fellow account managers, take charge of the complex aspects of their portfolios (analyse files, prepare financing offers and offer letters, conduct negotiations)
Negotiate financing terms with the credit department
Negotiate financing terms with customers and prospects from time to time
Assist in the implementation, renewal and review of complex files with account managers
Review expert documents (cost and environmental consultants, lawyers, SCHL contacts)
Review prerequisites prior to disbursements
Ensure that the quality of the portfolio is maintained
Identify risks inherent in the sector's activities
Your team:
The Real Estate Finance group is part of the Commercial and Private Banking 1859 sector. The group's mission is to support major players in the real estate industry in their interim construction financing projects as well as in the long-term financing of high-quality assets. The group is highly motivated and focused on expanding the market in Western Canada.
You are part of a team of 17 colleagues and report to the Senior Director, Portfolio Management. Our team stands out for its dynamism, its spirit of collaboration and its team spirit.
Prerequisites:
A bachelor's degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant experience, OR a master's degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in real estate financing
Relevant experience in commercial credit
Experience in customer service and negotiation
Experience in business development is an asset
Knowledge of products and services for businesses
