Group IT provides technology strategy, governance, delivery, and support for all of Toll. The team enable Toll with the right technology foundations and business systems to grow the business and support our customer needs.
Toll IT Services (ITS) in partnership with the Divisional Information Technology (IT) functions will make a significant contribution to the Toll business and IT agenda, as well as support financial and tangible benefit objectives, and other non-financial goals such as positive teamwork, health & safety, and Toll’s Culture.
The Role
Join Toll Group as Portfolio Manager – Customer
Toll IT Services (ITS) is seeking a seasoned Portfolio Manager to lead the delivery of strategic IT projects across our core divisions, including Global Logistics, Global Forwarding, Government & Defence, and Enterprise & Corporate. This high-impact leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing a portfolio of business growth and IT demand initiatives in close partnership with Divisional Heads of IT and Core IT leaders across Infrastructure, Applications, and Security.
You will lead a team of Project Managers to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery aligned with Toll’s enterprise framework, Projects@Toll. Success in this role requires strong business engagement, outcome-driven execution, and the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration across a global organisation.
As the Portfolio Manager – Customer you will:
Project Delivery Leadership - Oversee end-to-end delivery of all IT projects in the Customer Success portfolio, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Strategic Alignment & Demand Management - Align business demand with Toll’s growth objectives and IT capacity, translating strategies into actionable projects while managing expectations and dependencies.
Stakeholder Engagement - Collaborate with Divisional Heads of IT and key stakeholders for early engagement and alignment on project goals and value.
Cross-Functional Partnership - Build strong relationships with Core IT leads across Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Architecture, Applications, Data, and Service Delivery.
Team Leadership & Governance - Mentor Project Managers, promote standardised tools and governance practices, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Risk, Reporting & Transition Management - Manage portfolio risks and interdependencies, provide executive-level reporting, and ensure smooth service transition into operational support.
What We’re Looking For
Qualification
Undergraduate degree in IT, Business, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is highly regarded.
Project or Program Management certification (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2, PMP) is preferred.

Team Leadership & Culture Building - Proven track record in leading and coaching project teams, fostering a high-performance culture and navigating ambiguity to drive outcomes.
Industry & Commercial Insight - Experience across multiple industries (Logistics, Government, Enterprise) and strong commercial acumen in evaluating business cases and vendor proposals.
Project Methodologies & Governance - Familiarity with hybrid project environments (agile/waterfall) and enterprise-level governance practices.
Technical Knowledge - Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and transformation delivery.
