What you'll be doing
Hitachi Vantara is seeking an Automation Software Development Engineer to join our quality test lab. The candidate will primarily focus on development and maintenance of automation scripts, support and maintenance of automation tools. The candidate will also need to work with users to provide instant support and solution of different automation problems. The individual is expected to be an enthusiastic, articulate, and motivated person with a passion for delivering fantastic products with optimized quality.
What you bring to the team
Responsibilities
• Develop automated test scripts.
• Maintenance of different automation tools.
• QA and storage interoperability testing.
• Create and document detailed test plans, methodologies, performance briefs, Implementation
• Guides and other technical documents that detail the configurations, test methodology results and Best Practices.
• Assist cross functional teams in troubleshooting and problem identification
• Produce relevant communications to stakeholders.
• Design and perform complex testing in various areas such as container persistent storage, file/block to object storage, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent documentation skills in creating test procedures, workflows, diagrams, and customer facing white paper
• Possess the ability to work and communicate with the senior leadership team.
• Coordinate with manager on deliverables.
• Manage and track project related issues.
Preferred skillset:
• 5+ years of in-depth knowledge and hands on experience in Perl/Python, Shell Scripting.
• In-depth knowledge in Linux, Windows, VMware etc.
• Knowledge on automation scripting and automation tools.
• Experience with GUI development.
• Ability to work independently, dealing with day-to-day problems with minimal oversight
• Resource management and allocation to optimize results.
• Preliminary knowledge on FC and iSCSI protocol.
• A team player and fast technology adoption is a must
D esirable skillset:
• Familiarity with enterprise storage products from Hitachi/IBM/HPE/Dell EMC/NetApp a plus.
• Hands on experience with infrastructure Resource Management Software.
• Hands on experience with SAN switches like Brocade, Cisco etc.
• Competent in Perl/Python programming with experience in test automation and interfacing with REST APIs.
• Give technical presentations internally, and across different functional units.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skills.
• 5-10 years of total work experience. Preferred with Storage/SAN knowledge.
