Penrith (Kingswood) campus with flexible working arrangements.
Salary: $97,153 – $117,376 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

Contribute to applied research advancing recycled concrete and cement decarbonisation.

The Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to an Australian Research Council funded research project focused on sustainable construction and decarbonisation. The role sits within the School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment and supports research addressing recycled concrete technologies and low-carbon cement solutions.

Based at the Penrith campus, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary project team to deliver high-quality research outcomes aligned to project objectives and timelines. Your work will support industry and government engagement and contribute to practical, evidence-based solutions for the construction sector.

The role involves contributing across the full research lifecycle, including research design, data analysis, publication, grant development and student supervision. This is an outcomes-driven position, with performance assessed against agreed research deliverables and milestones.

About You

Demonstrated research and publication track record in sustainable construction or related fields.
Experience in experimental design and qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Ability to conduct independent research and contribute effectively within a team environment.
Capability to engage with industry, government and professional stakeholders.
