Job Title: PostgreSQL Database Engineer with Payments

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, planning, and execution of complex data migration processes for PostgreSQL databases.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and the project team to identify and define the data migration requirements, document, and communicate these effectively.
• Handle multiple functional projects simultaneously to understand data usage and its implications for successful data migration.
• Conduct thorough analyses of the source systems, data to ensure accurate source-to-target data mapping.
• Oversee the migration and validation of static and transaction data between core systems, ensuring data integrity throughout the process.
• Develop and implement best practices, processes, and standards for data migration activities, tailored to PostgreSQL environments.
• Actively manage risks associated with the data migration plan and monitor potential impacts to minimize disruption.
• Produce comprehensive end-user documentation that outlines the new data repository, migration processes, and best practices for future migrations.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years experience in PostgreSQL database development, including installation, configuration, and maintenance in both test and production environments.
• Adept at monitoring and optimizing database performance through query optimization and index tuning.
• Proficient in executing regular database backups and conducting disaster recovery operations to ensure data integrity.
• Skilled in robust database security measures, including managing user access controls and implementing data encryption.
• Demonstrated knowledge in cloud-based database solutions, with hands-on experience using migration tools on platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
