The founding of Metropolitan dates to as early as 18+8 and Momentum traces its roots to being established in 1+66. Momentum Metropolitan Holdings was formed from the merger of Metropolitan and Momentum, two sizeable and diverse insurance-based financial services companies in South Africa and was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on 1 December 2010.
In order to grow its international footprint and diversify its revenue streams, Momentum Metropolitan actively pursues financially viable opportunities across the world. Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company Limited, a joint venture with Aditya Birla Capital Limited, was incorporated in 2015 and was our first expansion into India.
Having experienced India first-hand as a hub of both talent and opportunity, we set up Momentum Metropolitan Services in 2017, a wholly-owned Mumbai-based global in-house centre to leverage IT, ITES and Business support services to all our businesses worldwide.
Role Purpose
Responsible for defining, supporting, implementing, and perfecting the architecture and processes of the product and platforms required to meet business goals and aims.
Requirements
- Min 5 years of relevant experience
- Solid Experience and Understanding of DB architecture & implementations
- Experience and Knowledge in DB2 will be an added advantage
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installing your Postgresql Software
- Creating Postgresql Databases
- Managing the Postgresql Cluster
- Estimate PostgreSQL database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.
- Support, administer and maintain database environments running DB2 LUW
- Develop procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime.
- Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Reindexing, Archiving).
- Managing Database Storage Structures
- Administering User Security
- Managing Data Concurrency
- Managing Undo Data
- Implementing Database Auditing
- Database Maintenance
- Performance Management
- Responsible for query tuning
- Backup and Recovery Concepts
- Performing Database Backups

- Patch Management
- Experience with database migrations to Postgresql will be an added advantage
