We are hiring for Database Administrators for our internal production team for seamless performance of database in Bengaluru location. Applicant should be expert in PostgreSQL administration with interest to learn Oracle DBA skills.
Location: Bengaluru (Hybrid)
Start date: Immediate.
About the Role: The Expert Database Administrator manages our production databases and other technologies that are essential to the operation of Bottomline Technologies. He / She will work closely with operations engineers and other application developers to ensure database integrity, availability, and seamless performance throughout production environment.
The Expert Database Administrator will:
Work closely with Application Development team to ensure database changes adhere to best practices and are properly prioritized and scheduled.
Monitor, configure and maintain PostgreSQL database.
Participate in the team's 24x7 on call rotation and provide off-hours support when required.
Should be hands-on supporting large-scale database with rapid response to production.
Proactively identify areas for optimization and troubleshoot database performance issues.
Installing and upgrading database systems and management tools
Manage database schema maintenance and migrations Improve service availability and scalability through tuning, automation, tools, and process.
Implement and maintain database backup and recovery, disaster recovery procedures.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
4+ years of database administration experience on Postgres with keen interest to learn Oracle.
Good experience in automation with Shell Scripting/Bash/Python
Skills and Knowledge Required:
PostgreSQL DBA skills, preferably in a Linux environment
Good expertise of PostgreSQL active-passive cluster using High-Availability, PGBackrest and Patroni.
Understanding in administering Postgres.
Solid experience with the Linux operating system and command set.
Ability to solve problems, make sound decisions and use good judgement
Good written and communication skills
