About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Databases expert to join our team at Tata Consultancy Services. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our PostgreSQL databases.
Responsibilities
The role involves:
• Database Administration: Manage and maintain production databases, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Role and Access Management: Configure and manage database roles and access privileges.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies using BART or equivalent tools.
• Database Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize database performance to meet business requirements.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor database activity and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Database Administrator with hands-on experience with PostgreSQL databases.
• Excellent shell and SQL skills for DBA tasks automation.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL architecture and database maintenance.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL +.x to 13 and SQL Server.
• Desirable skills include Apache Spark, Impala, Solr, and NOSQL technologies.
