As a Power BI Developer, you will play an integral role in our Business Intelligence team, responsible for delivering valuable analysis and reporting to the Board of Directors, daily management, and tactical day-to-day decision-making.
Your primary focus will be on creating impactful reports and dashboards using Power BI, working closely with your colleagues to ensure successful implementation. As a key member of our team, you will be involved in the entire BI lifecycle, from requirements gathering and data modeling, to report creation and maintenance.
As a Power BI Developer at TORM, your primary focus will be on data visualization, using the Power BI toolset to develop visually engaging and intuitive reports and dashboards. You will play a pivotal role in driving our BI strategy forward and helping us become the leader in the product tanker segment.
As we move our existing BI platform to the cloud, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including Databricks, to modernize our data platform and support statistical modeling, predictive analysis, and data mining.
Your tasks will include:
• Developing visually engaging and intuitive reports and dashboards using the Power BI toolset, ensuring that data is presented in a meaningful and actionable way
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate those needs into effective visualizations which support data-driven decision- making
• Optimizing, documenting, and hosting internal BI systems, with focus on delivering high-quality and impactful data visualizations
• Providing advisory support and ad hoc training to ensure optimal utilization of the BI platform, educating users on best practices for data visualization
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams on projects related to business development and optimization, providing data visualization expertise to support decision-making and achieve project goals
• Supporting cloud migration and modernization efforts, including working with cutting-edge technologies such as Databricks, to ensure that data visualizations continue to be effective and impactful in a cloud-based environment.
To succeed in the job
As a Power BI Developer with focus on data visualization, the ideal candidate should be results-oriented, adaptable, and constantly striving to improve their skills. They should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
The suitable candidate should have at least 2-3 years of experience in Business Intelligence with a strong emphasis on data visualization and a minimum of 1-2 years of T-SQL development experience.
Furthermore, you should have:
• 2-3 years of experience in Power BI development and data visualization
• A strong understanding of data visualization best practices
• Excellent understanding of dimensional modeling as well as traditional database modeling
• Experience with cloud migration and modern data platforms such as Databricks would be an advantage
• Experience with source control systems like SVN/GitHub/TFS in a team environment
• Agile experience is preferred but not mandatory. We value a candidate's willingness to learn and adapt to new methodologies
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
