Role Description:
We are seeking a talented PowerBuilder and PowerServer Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications utilizing PowerBuilder and PowerServer technologies. The role requires strong technical skills, a solid understanding of software development principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain software applications using PowerBuilder and PowerServer.
2. Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
3. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and designs.
4. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
5. Conduct thorough unit testing and debugging to ensure software meets functional requirements.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by end-users.
7. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure software quality and reliability.
8. Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
+. Keep abreast of new technologies and industry trends related to PowerBuilder and PowerServer development.
10. Document software designs, technical specifications, and deployment procedures.
11. Assist in the deployment and maintenance of applications in production environments.
12. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
2. Proven experience in developing software applications using PowerBuilder and PowerServer.
3. Strong proficiency in SQL and database design concepts.
4. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.
+. Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
2. Experience with software development tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, and Docker.
3. Familiarity with integrating third-party APIs and services.
4. Understanding of software security best practices.
