Job Description Summary
You will be part of the core team at GE Digital Grid Software Business driving Energy Transition for the planet by designing, building, delivering and maintaining software applications & services for next generation Grid Software that orchestrates 40% of the world’s power today. Responsible for Advanced Electricity Market Systems Application software development, testing, integration and tuning of assigned functions to meet product and customer commitments. The projects include developing advanced aggregation, trading, clearance and settlement engines for market system for Electric Utilities or ISOs (Independent System Operators) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs). You will work with a global team to develop key software modules and improve security, performance, flexibility and delivery time of the software. You will be part of scrum team and be responsible for software lifecycle including activities such as requirement analysis, software development and testing, CI/CD, documentation and support.

Roles and Responsibilities:
In this role you will,
Contribute to electricity market product development on schedule, within budget and meets or exceeds customer satisfaction expectations
Use Java-Springboot and related technologies to develop this next gen capabilities. Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology stack used by the team
Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision
Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards
Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
Promote and demonstrate best practices and high-quality software development processes
Be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure
Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness
Technical Expertise:
Experience in Java, Springboot and related technologies.
Knowledge in power system analysis, power system operation and control, energy and ancillary services markets.
Prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile. Aware of and able to apply continuous integration (CI).
General understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life cycle.
Business Acumen:
Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.
Understands the technology landscape, up to date on current technology trends and new technology, brings new ideas to the team.
Displays understanding of the project’s value proposition for the customer. Shows commitment to deliver the best value proposition for the targeted customer.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with thesis or related work in power systems.
Experience with software development. (OOPS concepts and Java / C++ skills)
Desired Qualifications:
In case of a PhD in electrical engineering with a dissertation in power systems is preferred.
Knowledge in Springboot with Java is a plus.
Experience with Electricity Markets (energy and ancillary services) and dispatch is a strong plus.
Some work experience in a strong plus.
Experience with Optimization/MILP is strong plus.
Experience in working in industrial environments is a plus
Experience in working with graph-based programming is a plus
Experience with UML model driven code development is a plus
