Job Purpose:
The role bearer has the responsibility to coordinate, control and manage the quality and efforts of the development team to ensure it aligns with the business operations team. The role holder is expected to encourage, teach and enforce strict adherence to key development processes that directly impact the efficiency, stability and scalability of the system.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) department plays a pivotal role in providing seamless experience for our customers. With state-of-the-art technology and tools, we are transforming the overall application development and maintenance lifecycle. Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for understanding and implementing solutions to meet desired business outcomes and standards sustainably.
- Participate in design, build, and on-call support of various cloud, container, and on-premises platforms through standalone and integration operations.
- Responsible for ensuring that operational and service level agreements are operationally met through SLI and SLO monitoring, analysis, and incident responses.
- Be able to communicate effectively and work closely together with business clients, other technology teams, support partners and stakeholders to deliver and support business aligned solutions.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Recommend improvements to processes and policies across the Banking business to drive operational efficiencies and high quality customer service.
- Leverage in-house synergies through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Monitor key parameters on productivity, hiring quality and attrition rates and make necessary improvements.
- Champion IDFC First's customer first culture by driving the team to take up high degree servicing norms to ensure absolute customer delight.
- Attract and retain best-in-class talent for key roles in their reporting structure

- Failure recovery time
- Reduced lead time to change
- Lowering change failure rates
Qualification: B.E/B.Tech or MS in Computer Science or related discipline
Experience: 6 + years of relevant experience
Functional Area: The candidate must have:
- 6+ overall years of experience, with 4+ years of professional site reliability career experience.
- Responsible for understanding and implementing solutions to meet desired business outcomes and standards sustainably.
- Participate in design, build, and on-call support of various cloud, container, and on-premises platforms through standalone and integration operations.
- Responsible for ensuring that operational and service level agreements are operationally met through SLI and SLO monitoring, analysis, and incident responses.
- Experience with monitoring, APM, and alerting tools like Newrelic, Pingdom, Opsgenie or Pagerduty.
- Be able to communicate effectively and work closely together with business clients, other technology teams, support partners and stakeholders to deliver and support business aligned solutions.
- Monitor, administer, and operate multiple clusters across data centers and in public cloud, primarily in Python, Scala and Java.
- Actively participate and contribute to code reviews and technical design documents, with an eye toward identifying performance and reliability bottlenecks.
- Strong experience with Linux administration and good understanding the various.
- Instrumentation, Logging, and Metrics/Monitoring using tools like Dynatrace, Appmon, Splunk, ELK, Cloud Watch, BMC
- Experience in DNS, TCP/IP, UDP, GRPC, Routing and Load Balancing.
- Expertise in GitOps, Infrastructure as a Code tools such as Terraform etc.. and
- Configuration Management Tools such as Chef, Puppet, Saltstack, Ansible.
- Good knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or other relevant Cloud Infrastructure
