The Role
Centacare offers a fixed-term, part-time (Maternity cover) opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner to join our impactful SPRING team. In this role, you will provide crucial support to young people aged 11-18 who are experiencing suicidal distress, self-harming behaviours, or other mental health challenges.
This meaningful part time position involves working outside of traditional hours, including weekends, with a rotating roster. Shifts will not extend beyond 8pm. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and thrive in dynamic environments, we encourage you to apply.
This is a part time fixed term opportunity until 31 December 2026

What you need to bring
Essential
Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or related field.
Proven experience working alongside vulnerable youth and their networks facing barriers to support
Proven experience delivering a service compassionately to people experiencing distress
Proven experience working effectively in collaboration with stakeholders
Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
Valid Driver’s Licence
Desirable
Experience working in crisis spaces
Experience working with families with complex needs
Understanding of the referral pathways and how to navigate systems delivering services for mental health and broader social issues
