About the Role
Join our friendly and supportive laboratory team, providing specimen collection services (phlebotomy) for the local community.
The successful applicant will mostly be responsible for specimen collection, but may also be required to perform other pre-analytical work such as specimen registration and preparation.
This role is suitable for either an experienced phlebotomist, or someone who is passionate about healthcare and would welcome the opportunity to work towards a qualification in medical laboratory science.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our laboratory is an integral part of the wider laboratory services at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato, servicing inpatients, outpatients and community patients. This casual position will supplement the current laboratory team of 13 staff, including 4 Phlebotomists.
About you
Skills and experience you will need to be considered for the role:
Ideally a registered Pre-Analytical Medical Laboratory Technician or eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences Council.
Applicants without this qualification and the right attributes may also be considered and will be given full training
Phlebotomy experience will be advantageous
Flexibility to work any hours between 0800-1630 Monday to Friday
A people person with the ability to communicate empathetically
Ability to work independently as well as part of the team
