Norstar Industries Ltd. is a Manitoba-owned and Operated manufacturer located just outside Rosenort, MB. At Norstar we build conveyance equipment for the agriculture, agri-industrial and industrial markets. Norstar is also the home of the U-Drain™ floor drainage system. Our purpose is to build innovative solutions that help build and feed the world.
Norstar prides itself in providing market-leading products that are exceptional on every level. To do this, we need an exceptional team. We are now seeking dependable and experienced individuals to join our team in our Prefabrication department.
Working as a Technician / General Laborer in our Prefab department you will be expected to carry out your work with care for quality and safety.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Operate and maintain prefabrication equipment and machinery according to Norstar's expectations and standards
Prepare materials and set up workstations according to specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Cut, shape, and attach prefabricated parts using hand and power tools
Ensure high quality control and adherence to Norstar's safety guidelines
Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines
Other duties as assigned, as related to position and department
Requirements
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong asset
Experienced and Skilled in metal prefabrication will also be a strong asset
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy environment
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong work ethic with the ability to work 4 - 10 hour shifts a week
Effective communication skills (verbal and written - English)
Ability to work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions and guidance from shop leadership
Ability to follow all safety protocols
Physically able to lift up to 45 lbs.
Able to read tape measurements
Steel toe work boots
