Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking. This position requires a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring vegetables and proteins.
Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of low supplies.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety standards.
Skills
Strong knowledge of food handling techniques and food safety regulations.
Experience in the food industry, preferably in a restaurant or food service environment.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation.
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff.
Basic cooking skills with a willingness to learn more advanced techniques as needed.
