Position Summary:

A pre-primary teacher plays a crucial role in a child's early education and development. They provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 5 years old. The primary responsibility of a pre-primary teacher is to facilitate the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development:

Create age-appropriate lesson plans and activities based on the pre-primary curriculum.

Design engaging and interactive learning experiences that foster children's curiosity and creativity.

Develop thematic units, incorporating various subjects such as language, math, science, and arts.

Classroom Management:

Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Set clear expectations and rules for behavior, ensuring students' safety and well-being.

Manage classroom routines and transitions effectively to optimize learning time.

Instruction and Assessment:

Deliver lessons using developmentally appropriate teaching strategies and methods.

Use a variety of instructional techniques, such as storytelling, play-based learning, and hands-on activities.

Assess students' progress through observation, informal assessments, and periodic evaluations.

Provide constructive feedback and support individual student needs.

Parent Communication:

Foster open and regular communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and development.

Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide written progress reports.

Collaborate with parents to address concerns, share resources, and promote a consistent approach to learning at home and school.

Classroom Environment and Resources:

Create an inviting, well-organized, and child-friendly classroom environment that promotes exploration and learning.

Utilize developmentally appropriate teaching aids, materials, and resources to support learning outcomes.

Maintain and manage classroom resources effectively.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance the learning experience and share best practices.

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on educational trends, teaching methodologies, and child development research.

Engage in reflective practice to continuously improve teaching strategies and approaches.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required).

Relevant teaching certification or licensure (depending on the jurisdiction).

Prior experience working with young children in a classroom setting is preferred.

Strong knowledge of child development principles, early childhood education methodologies, and age-appropriate teaching strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.

Patience, creativity, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with young children.

Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

Proficient computer skills and familiarity with educational technology tools.
