JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the agency’s Clinical Director, the Therapist is responsible for providing direct client care. The Therapist also maintains a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per company policies, procedures and best practices; communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all clients.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:

This position is considered safety-sensitive. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening. ********* use - including recreational and medicinal - is not permitted for safety-sensitive roles.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• 21 years or older;
• 2+ Years of recovery experience, if self-disclosed in recovery.
• Master’s Degree and Licensed in AZ in a field related to Behavioral Health, this includes: LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LAC, LMFT, LAMFT, PhD., or Licensed Professional health care provider; or
• Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field and at least one year of full-time Behavioral Health work experience, or
• Have an Associate’s Degree and at least two years of full-time Behavioral Health work experience, qualifying as a BHT.
• Adhere to the Cornerstone Healing Center code of ethics

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Provides direct support services to include engaging clients in Individual and Group Therapy, topics related to 12-step recovery, health and wellness promotion, and crisis management.
• Carry a caseload of up to 15; (Caseloads beyond 15 will be short-term and temporary due to coverage or staffing). Provide the following to members of caseload, including, but not limited to:
• Behavioral Health Assessment (when indicate)
• Suicide Evaluation (when/if indicated) and related safety planning and prioritization and de-escalation.
• Re-Evaluation of behavior, diagnosis, and or presenting issue
• Develops and provides individual treatment plans; monitors, evaluates and documents client’s progress.
• Problem List, Behavioral Evidence, and status (prioritization) of client needs
• Individualized S.M.A.R.T. Treatment Planning
• Goals developed in the words or ideas of the client, or in words the client can understand
• Objectives that are steps to achieving the goal, which are measurable to achieving the goal.
• Use of outcome tools (BASIS 32) in the creation of treatment plans.
• Interventions which reflect the intended delivery of services.
• Updates to reflect progress (and or lack of progress) to the elements of the treatment plan
• Group Process and Caseload groups as assigned.
• 1-hour individual session weekly
• Case Management as needed.
• Validation of Sponsor and engagement with the program and the clients personal program of recovery.
• Family phone call weekly
• Satisfaction Surveys and Outcome Tool Surveys
• Discharge and Aftercare Planning
• Monitors case load daily to ensure required documentation is completed timely; including, but not limited to, assessments, treatment plans, case reviews and discharge plans.
• Assist in the rollout of treatment curricula and program enhancements, including integration of S.M.A.R.T. treatment planning.
• Conducts assessments or screenings with clients to evaluate the nature of their presenting problems in order to determine their needs and develop appropriate treatment plan goals.
• Has responsibility for clinical documentation. Prepares progress notes, event notifications and other documentation regarding clients in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
• Facilitates coordination of care to include case review, therapeutic interventions, and client progress in treatment.
• Facilitate assigned group schedules and client engagement to ensure appropriate therapeutic services.
• Support the measurement of treatment outcomes and service effectiveness.
• Oversee assignment and distribution of caseloads and ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to critical incidents and behavioral emergencies in accordance with policy.
• Collaborate with admissions, case management, and medical teams to ensure wraparound care.
• Participate in clinical oversight or clinical supervision assigned to you to improve your skills and knowledge, review of case notes, and improve service delivery.
• Participates in daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual management meetings.
• Collaborates and maintains positive relationships with the assigned clinical supervisor, office staff, contractors, regulating agencies, and clients.
• Report unresolved client complaints and grievances to the Clinical Director.
• Duty to report suspected or alleged events to the Clinical Director and be involved in the report to appropriate agencies with the Clinical Director or Administrator.
• May be “on call” for emergency situations.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED
• Knowledge of recovery models, 12-Step Recovery, and the application of the recovery process.
• Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, especially word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
• Knowledge and experience in counseling and case management with substance abuse clients.
• Ability to prepare, implement, and analyze treatment plans and psychiatric reports.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, gaining cooperation and resolving conflicts.
• Ability to plan and organize case workload, manage deadlines of him/herself.
• Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and client data, client boundaries, and other sensitive information.
• Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity, protecting client rights.
• Recognition of the limits of one’s own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support, as needed.
• Makes clinical and organizational decisions with the clients’ and agency well-being and best interests in mind.
• Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strength, privacy and choice, recognizing the unique needs of the client population served by the agency.
• Provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and that the staff member is qualified to provide.
• Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse.
• Identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse, and the common side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
• Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which the client may be a danger to himself or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, is experiencing a crisis situation or medical emergency.
• Recognize and respond to fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergency: and
• Has completed all of the requirements above and is documented in application in training including the ability to pass background checks required by Cornerstone Healing Center.
• Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity.
• Recognition of the limits of one’s own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support, as needed.
• Makes clinical decisions with the clients’ and agency employees’ well-being and best interests in mind.
• Ability to pass background checks required by Cornerstone Healing Center.
