Principal Accountant
Represent the firm to clients and build relationships in the local community. Work closely with the other partners in day-to-day practice management and client relations.
· Prepare monthly and quarterly revenue targets (rolling forecasts) for the Sechelt office and ensure the clients are billed in-line with the target along with timely collection.
· Oversee the team of accountants and managers and provide leadership grooming them to grow in their careers and deliver higher quality work.
· Lead assurance department and ensure compilations engagements in Caseware are delivered in line with CSRS 4200 standards.
· Lead the tax function for OB and ensure tax filings are reviewed and filed within timelines issued by CRA.
· Participate in field work for reviews and audits.
· Review year end financial statements and related working papers for audits, reviews and compilations.
· Support in establishing centralized operations by implementing iFirm practice management solutions.
· Ensure all clients move to one common tax (Taxprep) and assurance (Caseware) software.
· Willing to adapt to technology and help clients move to more cloud-based environment allowing for hybrid working environment.
· Establish best practices for assurance business vertical with clearly defined SOPP ensuring no major issues with practice inspections by the regulators.
· Support in developing effective tax strategies working papers/presentation decks to position the firm well in front of potential clients and build strategic partnerships with wealth managers to grow the practice.
· Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships and identify client service opportunities.
· Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses.
· Evaluate existing business processes and policies and advise on policy and tax changes; developing proactive tax strategies that make effective use of business opportunities and ensure businesses are run effectively.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
