Description

Our Buildings business line is seeking to appoint a Principal Civil Engineer - Buildings Team Leader for our Perth office. You will join an existing experienced team of engineers and designers who are passionate about making a difference to the local community and being part of the exciting future growth of WA and be involved in some of the most prestigious and landmark projects. Some of the key aspects of this role are:

To lead the team in achieving the outcomes and objectives identified in the Civil Buildings business strategy.
The primary Civil Engineering offering will center around the design and documentation of car parks, stormwater drainage, intersections and such like in the Commercial, Residential, Retail, Industrial and Education sectors across the State of WA. You will be responsible for ensuring the rest of the team and those deliverables meet the Client and Architectural brief, as well as being coordinated with other respective disciplines.
To lead the overall performance of the team in the following areas:
People
Technical leadership
Project and operational management including quality
Business development (An existing network of WA client contacts would be looked upon favorably, but is not essential)
To promote cooperation and cross-selling across all APAC business units through the general sharing of information, support, resourcing for projects in the interests of the overall good of the company.

The Role

Oversee all people management activity in their team; manage the people to deliver against agreed goals, strategies and KPIs.
Oversee implementation of company systems and policies that ensure standards for all work are maintained for technical performance and avoidance of professional liability
Work with Project Managers and Project Directors to balance project outputs with budget constraints to avoid project overruns (time, or cost).
Work with Project Managers and Project Directors to implement project improvement plans when needed.
Work with PMs/ PDs to ensure adequate project/ proposal resourcing

About You

Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
Demonstrated experience within a civil infrastructure environment and specifically the Built environment market.
Demonstrated experience and relationships with stakeholders such as Commercial Clients, Architects, Project Managers, Local Authorities & Government bodies.
Strong client relationship and business development skills
Excellent technical report writing skills
Outstanding communication skills to liaise with the team, senior management and external partners to produce commercial, client focused outcomes.
