As the Principal Lawyer in the Litigation Unit within Environmental Services and Regulation (ESR) division, you will report to the Senior Director of the Litigation Unit and play a critical role in leading and supporting prosecutions, engaging with external counsel , delivering positive outcomes and nurturing a team of junior Lawyers.

The work will involve you conducting enforcement and compliance litigation work on behalf of the department and other government departments, including prosecutions, development appeals in the Planning and Environment Court and appeals against decisions in relation to environmental matters, including Land Court appeals. You will also provides strategic advice and direction on the department's regulatory actions and enforcement role.

You will ideally have more than six years post admission experience undertaking advice and litigation related to regulatory enforcement, criminal or administrative law and have experience in leading and managing a team of lawyers.
