Position Summary
At Appen, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Principal Software Engineer to lead the way in the development of innovative AI and machine learning solutions. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to design and implement complex software systems, playing a key role in driving our mission to transform AI and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-performing, scalable, and secure software systems using technologies such as Python, Java, or C++.
Provide strategic technical leadership and direction across multiple projects and teams.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to drive project outcomes and deliver high-quality software solutions.
Serve as a mentor and guide to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Drive the resolution of complex technical challenges, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our software systems.
Champion the adoption and enforcement of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
Translate strategic business needs into practical, scalable architecture to develop innovative software solutions.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master's Degree or higher is preferred.
10+ years of experience in software development.
Demonstrated expertise in multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
Deep understanding of advanced algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
Prior experience with AI and machine learning technologies is highly desirable.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record of mentoring and guiding teams.
Ability to work effectively and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
