The Data Protection Group drives the product strategy, roadmap, and engineering delivery of the Veritas products, which includes NetBackup, APTARE, Backup Exec, Enterprise Vault (EV), , eDiscovery platform, and Veritas SaaS Backup.

What you will be doing:
As a security expert, you will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for security testing of various VERITAS' flagship products
The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of professional experience working primarily on security testing and related aspects. The candidate should be self-motivated and passionate about quality. The candidate must demonstrate a strong technical competency in an environment that values accountability, quality, commitment and innovation.
What skills, experience and education you need as a team member to succeed:
• BE (comp) or Masters in Computer Science
• Overall, 8 – 10 years of working experience as a Security Testing Expert
• Knowledge of security testing terminologies, exposure to penetration testing for enterprise products.
• Applicable knowledge of Windows client/server, Unix/Linux systems, and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Hands on experience of application vulnerabilities assessment tools like Nessus, Nexpose, OWASP ZAP, Appscan, Acunetix, HT-Tracker etc.
• Any experience in Kali Linux and tools such as Burp suite, SQL Map, Oracle SQL developer and Metasploit.
• Well versed with general automation concepts and various testing methods
• Hands on experience working on Linux and Unix platforms
• Programming skills in C/C++, or hands on experience in scripting languages like Python, Perl, Ruby
· Extra credits for experience working with various virtualization platforms like VMWare, Hyper-V, RHV is a plus.
Knowledge of Kubernetes and various orchestration platforms like OpenShift/GKE is a big plus.
Responsibilities
• Interact with global security experts, and work with various product teams to determine their requirements from the security testing.
• Plan and create penetration methods, scripts and tests
• Simulate security breaches to test a system's relative security
• Create reports and recommendations from your findings, and provide advice on how to minimize risks and suggestions on methods to fix or lower security risks to systems
• Understand how the flaws that you identify could affect a business, or business function, if they're not fixed
