We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to be a lead in our Enterprise Analytics Platform team.
The ideal candidate should have deep technical knowledge of Enterprise Systems Design, big data architecture and technology landscape, API consumption, ETL/ELT orchestration, and business intelligence tools. The candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
• Drive the execution and delivery of product features by collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Be a highly technical, hands-on manager for a team of full stack engineers
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Perform project management of detailed engineering tasks
• Coach, mentor and lead junior to senior level software engineers
• Lead key engineering initiatives to improve overall engineering effectiveness and productivity
• Iteratively define and refine development processes and engineering best practices as teams grow
• Recruit, challenge, and reward high-performing software engineers and managers.
• Work in an agile, small team environment with a focus on speed and quality
• Be a trusted partner for senior management to determine the best solutions, help drive alignment and implement decisions throughout your team
Requirements
• Bachelor's/Master’s degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 15+ years developing commercial software in Java / Python / SaaS
• 10+ years of software engineering management experience using an Agile development process
• 10+ years of experience managing two or more engineering teams, including second-line management experience
• Experience with frontend technologies (e.g., Angular, React) is a plus, and working with User Experience and Product teams to build great user interfaces
• Skilled with Python, pandas, AngularJS, flask, MongoDB, SQL, numpy, scipy
• Analytics Data Pipeline In Python, using technologies such as Luigi, Celery, etc.
• Leading an engineering team, defining architecture, driving an independent project
• DevOps technologies and processesSmart, quick learner, proactive, comfortable working with unknowns and dynamically evolving requirements
• Proven ability to hire, mentor, coach, and lead a team to success
• Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results
• Expertise in object-oriented design and implementation
• Experience building application development tools, APIs, and/or enterprise application platform software
• Strong communication skills
