Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented developers in our D/Cipher Team. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing new or modified software products and ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both back-end (Java, Spring Boot) and front-end (Vue.js) development and a proven track record of mentorship, innovative thinking, and technical excellence. As the technology leader on your scrum team, you will be responsible for helping to set technical direction, realizing your ideas in code, and collaborating with other groups within the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Leadership and Mentorship:
• Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning, while providing technical guidance to promote their professional growth and development.
• Manage team performance, identify training needs periodically, and ensure alignment with
• organizational goals and industry best practices.
● Technical Direction and Development:
• Lead discussions about project architecture, technical feasibility, and development approach, setting and maintaining the technical direction for the team.
• Realize innovative ideas in code, contributing to both back-end and front-end development efforts, and provide solutions to performance problems and architectural challenges.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the team’s work.
● Project Management:
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software products and projects for the D/Cipher Team, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business
• requirements and exceed stakeholder expectations.
• Collaborate closely with business and product stakeholders to launch new features while maintaining engineering standards.
● Agile Environment:
• Work in a collaborative Agile environment, participating in scrum ceremonies, fostering an Agile
• mindset within the team, and promoting efficient and effective development processes to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Ability to synthesize business and functional requirements with design solutions.
Required Skills:
● Bachelor in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech Degree) with 8-12 years of relevant experience in full-stack web development.
● Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Vue.js, with a deep understanding of both back-end and front-end development.
● At least three years of experience mentoring or leading engineers, including experience in modern full-stack development.
● Strong technical skills in REST APIs, including expertise in RESTful services both as a user and as an author, and knowledge of Java development frameworks, REST API design principles, and API documentation tools (such as Swagger or RAML).
● Experience with RDS and MySQL databases.
● Proficient in debugging and problem-solving.
● Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly requirements – and vice versa.
● Strong knowledge of Agile methodology such as Scrum, and experience with tools like Git and Jira.
● Highly proficient in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Good to Have:
● Experience with containerized applications deployed in AWS or GCP.
● Knowledge of shell scripting.
● Experience with AWS systems like EC2, S3, ECS, Lambda, etc.
● Experience with Big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, Kafka etc.
