Job Description
As a Solutions Engineer for the Synopsys Custom Compiler product, you will work autonomously and collaboratively with other team members to enable customer flows. You will successfully develop and deploy Custom Design solutions for key customers, address customer issues, provide training & methodology help and drive tool adoption. You will also define and drive the product direction by identifying designer needs and specifying tool capabilities for the next generation designs.
Provides post-sales technical expertise during the installation, implementation, and maintenance of company products. Involved in defining detailed customer requirements, and implementing prototypes for them. Ensures that client’s needs have been met and that the product/solution is fully functioning according to specification. May provide pre-sales help to company sales staff and customer personnel.
BSEE/MSEE with 10-15 years of experience in Custom IC core applications such as circuit design, simulation, layout. Scripting skills (TCL, Perl, Python) required. Knowledge of industry standard EDA tools and methods for the design, implementation, and verification of Custom IC and Analog mixed-signal chips. Knowledge of the complete custom/mixed-signal design process and devices, experience with Open Access (OA), Custom & Analog layout design is required, digital implementation knowledge desired. Good communication skills and the ability to interface with customers are essential.
Have wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company goals to resolve complex issues in clever and effective ways. Knows about customer wants and needs. Customarily exercises autonomous judgment and interpretation in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Frequently performs in project leadership role. Drives programs and business initiatives. Establishes methods and procedures on new assignments and projects. Offers new solutions or direction and is able to encourage and motivate others to help with new solution or direction. May advise senior management on specialized technical or business issues. May coordinate activities, may represent the organization as contact on business unit and/or company-wide projects. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
