At Oji Fibre Solutions – Forest Resources (Kinleith Mill), our manufacturing operation is committed to the efficient and complete use of sustainably sourced virgin wood-fibre from renewable forestry resources. We take pride in producing world-class market kraft pulps, which are used in a wide range of boards and specialty products around the world.

Based at our Kinleith Mill, Tokoroa, this is a full-time permanent position.

About the role

This is a key technical role where your engineering expertise and problem‑solving ability will directly influence plant performance, product quality, and environmental outcomes.

As a Process Engineer, you will provide professional engineering support across the Fibreline and Chemical Plant operations. You will:

Stay current with international best practice in Fibreline technology, bringing fresh insight to improve process efficiency, product quality, and environmental performance.
Lead troubleshooting, process investigations, and optimisation activities across plant operations.
Conduct pre‑feasibility studies and provide qualified engineering advice for both small and large projects.
Benchmark OEE performance and develop solutions to close gaps.
Facilitate effective transfer of technical knowledge across Production, Chemical Plant, and other key stakeholders.
Contribute to site-wide improvement initiatives and support safe, reliable plant operation.
This role is hands-on, influential, and ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex technical problems in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

About You

You’ll bring strong analytical skills, structured problem-solving capability, and a passion for continuous improvement. You will also demonstrate sound judgement, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

A degree in Engineering or Chemistry (essential).
Experience in pulp & paper or other heavy industrial processes.
Demonstrated capability in process troubleshooting, optimisation, and project management.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
A commitment to safety, operational excellence, and delivering meaningful results.
