Job Description

Qualifications
Experience in design and construction of lab and pilot testing units, i.e., reactors and distillation columns, including instrumentation; knowledge and skill handling and working with glass equipment
Extensive hands-on experience and high attention to detail in operation and maintenance of laboratory and pilot-scale testing units
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong technical skills and ability to quickly learn chemical processes and technology
Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, organize work, and meet deadlines
Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/root cause analysis skills
Experience in a chemical or petrochemical laboratory, pilot plant or semi-works facility
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of software packages such as Atlas, Chromeleon and Sample Manager (LIMS)
Computer software skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience with operating process control software (i.e., LabView)
Ability to read technical drawings (P&ID's)
Knowledge of basic analytical methods and strong desire to learn new ones
Ability to conduct routine analytical tests using gas chromatography, titrators, etc
Ability to develop specifications for instruments and equipment per project needs, identify suitable vendors, and obtain quotes for suitable products
Capable of independent work as well as the ability to work well with others
Ability to work in an environment where priorities may change quickly

Contract: 6 months (could extend)

Pay: $30 hr. to $33 hr.

Schedule: rotating days/nights/weekends
