Are you ready for a hands-on role in a great team environment? As a Boiler Assistant in Training, you will enjoy hands on training, with a variety of tasks and exposure to some of the challenges that come with producing Raw Sugar. The aim of this fixed term contract for the remainder of the 2025 crushing season is to gain valuable job knowledge and become experienced in our operational teams.
As a Boiler Assistant with Wilmar Sugar & Renewables you'll be at the core of our operations, assisting the Boiler Operator with overseeing critical equipment, ensuring optimal steam generation and maintaining plant efficiency. This hands-on role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and relevant performance standards.
This position will be based in the Herbert, a hidden gem brimming with natural beauty, rich heritage, and small-town charm. From the lush rainforests of the Wet Tropics to the pristine beaches and winding rivers, the region offers a stunning backdrop for adventure, relaxation, and discovery.
Your Role in Action
Collaboration Crew: Work closely with the Boiler Station and shift teams to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
Ignite and Idle: Take charge of turbine and auxiliary equipment start-ups and shut-downs—keeping the plant's energy flow in check.
Bagasse Guardian: Manage the vital Bagasse system with precision ensuring smooth, efficient operations at all times.
Fix-It Force: Inspect, troubleshoot and handle boiler and auxiliary systems, reporting abnormalities.
Stay Ahead of Safety: Actively contribute to work, health and safety standards, from risk assessments to job safety analyses and participation in site safety programs.
Your Winning Combination
We're looking for someone with a "can do" attitude, sharp attention to detail and is dedicated to high-quality standards. Our ideal candidate will hold a High-Risk Work License for Turbine Operator (TO) and an Advanced Boiler Operator (BA) certification or is willing and able to achieve the competencies.
