Procurement Execution & Expediting Engineer

Business Group: Procurement

Primary Work Location: Matrix Tower, Pune, India

Job Summary:
• If you are a supply chain professional with experience in project execution and expediting, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! As a Procurement Execution and Expediting Engineer, you will be part of the Measurement Solutions team based in the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely execution of orders by closely monitoring vendor progress, coordinating documentation, and driving on-time delivery to meet project schedules. You will work with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers to resolve delays, manage escalations, and ensure compliance with quality and documentation requirements.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Documentation & Approvals
• Follow up on drawings and document submissions from vendors.
• Coordinate with Project Managers for customer approvals on documents.
• Provide timely updates to Buyers regarding document approvals from customers.
• Drive closure of pending documentation to avoid delays.

Order Execution & Monitoring
• Monitor production status and track delivery schedules.
• Follow up on inspections and approvals at vendor facilities.
• Arrange shipping documents and coordinate vendor logistics (if applicable).
• Manage vendor communication throughout project execution.
• Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on order status.

Quality & Compliance
• Coordinate material inspection and quality verification at Emerson warehouse.
• Handle rejection of materials, including vendor coordination and internal escalation.
• Manage non-conformance reports (NCR) and ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor and resolve technical deviations during execution.

Expediting & Escalation
• Handle urgent requirements and expedite requests as needed.
• Manage delays and escalate issues promptly to avoid impact on project timelines.
• Support project review meetings with accurate status updates.

Vendor Performance
• Conduct vendor performance reviews during execution.
• Ensure adherence to agreed delivery schedules and quality standards.

Strategic initiatives:
• On-Time Delivery Assurance
• Develop and implement proactive measures to ensure 100% on-time delivery of materials and documentation for all projects.
• This includes monitoring vendor progress and addressing delays before they impact schedules.
• Risk Mitigation & Escalation Management
• Establish clear escalation protocols and contingency plans for critical delays to minimize project impact.
• Identify risks early and take corrective actions promptly.
• Vendor Performance Optimization
• Create a structured vendor performance review process during execution to drive accountability and improve responsiveness for urgent requirements and surge orders.

Process Digitalization & Visibility
Introduce digital tracking tools and dashboards for real-time visibility of order status, documentation, and inspections to streamline expediting workflows and improve transparency.

• Maintain database for vendors, commodity prices
• Work with quality team for vendor quality performance and resolving quality issues if any
• Monthly KPI reporting
• Travel: Occasionally – Domestic & International
• Perform regulations and compliance analysis
• Ensure compliance to Emerson Record Retention Policy at all times
• Ensure compliance to Emerson’s Ethics Policy at all times

CRITICAL SUCCESS INDICATORS
• On-time delivery of goods and documentation.
• Effective communication and coordination with internal teams and vendors.
• Proactive resolution of delays and escalations.
• Accurate maintenance of ERP system and project records.
Ensure 100% compliance to purchasing processes, defined standards and procedures

You act quickly and decisively in dynamic situations, maintain clear communication with diverse stakeholders, and keep project timelines as your top priority. You are detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

For This Role, You Will Need:
• Experience of 6 to 8 years in supply chain and expediting processes.
• Excellent coordination and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Good understanding of quality standards and inspection processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Experience in Middle East & Africa project execution will be an advantage.
• Proven ability to work in multicultural virtual environment and lead/ coordinate activities for offices located throughout the world
• Knowledge of shipping documentation and logistics coordination.
• Knowledge of Regulatory / trade compliance
• Knowledge of import-export rules, incoterms etc.
• Knowledge of Instruments will be of advantage

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Additional certification in Supply Chain/Materials Management is an advantage.
• Experience in projects and/or EPC procurement business is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
