As the Controller professional in our Corporate & Investment Banking team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm.
Job Responsibilities:
The role entails the management of both P&L and Risk related tasks and requires extensive interaction with Front Office, Market Risk and Business Management. Additionally, it provides the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to learn and gain an in-depth understanding of the all aspects of market risks.
The key responsibilities of Product Control are:
Production, preparation and reporting of the daily P&L and risks
Understanding, producing and explaining daily P&L into constituent risk components whilst investigating any issues as required
Regular interaction with the front office to obtain sign off and deal with any ad hoc requests and queries.
Liaising with Financial control group to help investigate any issues around daily monitoring and review of the general ledger to reported P&L together with Balance sheet substantiation
Managing projects and initiatives related to all of the above as well as larger cross-business programmes
Being an active part of the team, generating ideas and suggestions for improvements etc.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, statistics, or economics is a plus
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Derivatives or Securities experience including clear understanding of Greeks analysis.
Strong interpersonal/communication skills - ability to relay information in a concise and understanding manner
Professional attitude, strong team player and personable / approachable manner
Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively to tight deadlines
Analytical and logical manner; good at problem solving and devising solutions
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Strong analytical, problem solving, and process re-engineering skills
Investigative mind-set, able to see issues at both a high level and in detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience with creating documentation
Energetic self-starter who takes ownership
Strong team player, comfortable working with all levels of the organization
Strong technical skills in using Excel
Interest and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
A ccounting / Control experience- a professional accounting qualification, e.g. CA
CFA charter holder
