Job Description
Product Developer / Sourcing
Key Responsibilities
Develop new styles of belts, bags and small leather goods from concept to approval
Prepare and send tech packs, specifications and reference samples to overseas factories
Select materials (leather, PU, fabrics, buckles, trims and hardware)
Ensure designs meet target price and customer requirements
Follow up on proto, revised and pre-production samples until approval
Review samples and comment on construction, measurements, finishing and overall quality
Approve colors, materials and workmanship prior to bulk production
Costing & Price Negotiation
Request and analyze costing from suppliers
Negotiate pricing with factories to meet customer targets and margins
Evaluate alternative materials or constructions to reach price objectives
Prepare costing sheets and margin calculations for sales team
Sourcing
Source and develop new factories and material suppliers
Evaluate supplier capabilities, quality level and reliability
Develop new materials, finishes and hardware with vendors
Maintain supplier relationships and performance follow-up
Materials & Trims
Develop custom hardware (buckles, logos, metal plates, packaging)
Approve lab dips, leather swatches and color standards
Ensure compliance with customer vendor manuals and testing requirements
Coordinate testing when required
Internal Coordination
Work closely with sales to interpret customer needs and key looks
Communicate product details to the Production Coordinator once orders are placed
Prepare handover packages (approved samples, specs, BOM, pricing, lead times)
Languages
English required
Qualifications
2–3 years of experience in product development, sourcing or merchandising within fashion accessories, apparel or footwear
Experience working with overseas factories and suppliers (Asia and/or Europe)
Strong knowledge of materials such as leather, PU, fabrics, hardware and trims
Ability to review samples and comment on construction, measurements and quality
Experience preparing or reviewing tech packs and specifications
Costing and price negotiation experience with suppliers
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple developments simultaneously
Excellent written communication skills (daily email communication with suppliers)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and basic document management systems
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
