Job Description
We are seeking a talented Hands-on Product Architect / Sr Principal software engineer. Working with a team of engineers, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and supporting a highly scalable SaaS based Vulnerability Management product, which is part of Qualys’ Security SaaS platform. The product features being delivered using containerized micro-services architecture and deployed to Cloud through CI-CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
• Design & deliver distributed, high-performance, scalable containerized micro service-based solutions.
• Be the thought leader & provide technical leadership to Engineering team.
• Ensure quality of Architecture & Design of product & its features.
• Work with PM & engineering team to help prioritize features.
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple solutions & enable addressing any limitations.
• Liaison & represent engineering in design conversations across Engineering, SRE, Support teams.
• Drive technology roadmap by innovating, developing prototypes & adopting next-gen technologies.
• Contribute to intellectual property through patents.
• Mentor/train team members towards newer technologies and good design & coding practices.
• Address any customer issues that get escalated to Engineering team time-to-time.
Qualifications
• 15+ years of strong hands-on experience in Architecture, Design & Development of Enterprise class solutions using Java technologies.
• Strong experience in Relational database design & SQL programming.
• Experience in developing micro-services, deployed as containers in cloud: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
• Excellent experience in designing for Performance & Scale and adopting best practices.
• Experience in Web application development using REST APIs.
• Experience on indexing technology like Elastic search, caching like Redis and Kafka event streaming.
• Excellent troubleshooting & problem-solving skills.
• Good communication & collaboration skills to be able to work with global teams.
• Experience mentoring/training the engineering team.
• Good knowledge & experience of Product development lifecycle.
• Experience & knowledge of Security technologies will be an advantage.
