Full job description
In your role as Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing a variety of product development projects for clients which span across multiple engineering disciplines. You will be responsible for the technical oversight and delivery of key project milestones, ensuring client and product success. You will work closely with a project coordinator to lead and task project teams, and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed throughout the entire product development life cycle.

The Role
Your key responsibilities are:

Acting as the primary technicalliaison with clients, ensuring clear communication of scope, progress, risks,and technical direction.
Defining and documentingproject scope and requirements in collaboration with clients and internalteams, ensuring feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
Translating client needs intoactionable technical specifications and guiding delivery across the fullproject lifecycle.
Estimating work, developingproject plans, and coordinating resourcing and procurement of materials andservices in collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Leading cross-functional teamsby setting a clear technical vision, reviewing product architecture, andpromoting an integrated approach to development.
Identifying technical risks anddependencies early, working with the project team to resolve issues andmaintain momentum.
Overseeing testing, validation,and compliance to ensure products meet technical and quality standards.
Working closely with projectcoordinators to monitor scope, budget, and timeline adherence, recommendingchanges where needed to ensure project and client success.
Anticipating details of futureprojects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed ofrelevant trends and industry news.

Minimum Criteria
The following skills and experience arerequired for this role:

Be an Australian citizen,permanent resident or hold a working visa
A relevant qualification from areputable education organisation (e.g. Bachelor of Electrical Engineering)
A minimum of 5 years’experience in a project management or product lead role
Extensive leadership and teammanagement abilities
Excellent problem-solvingskills
Knowledge of ISO 13485 &9001 regulatory requirements pertaining to product development
Understanding of a variety ofproduction/manufacturing processes
Experience in communicatingwith and evaluating local and offshore suppliers
Excellent verbal and writtenEnglish communication skills
Ability to work independentlyand as part of a team
