The VMWare Networking squad are part of our broader Global Hosting Services (GHS) division, delivering the virtual network infrastructure that underpins the bank’s hybrid cloud and virtualisation platforms. They are responsible for the design, operation and continuous improvement of VMWare-based networking solutions that support critical banking services. Their work ensures secure, scalable and high-performing connectivity across virtualised environments, enabling seamless integration with compute, storage and automation layers.
The team play a vital role in enabling infrastructure agility, operational resilience and service excellence, helping the bank deliver secure, reliable and innovative experiences for customers and colleagues alike.
Your Impact and Contribution
We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Technology Product Owner to lead the squad responsible for VMWare Networking within our Global Hosting Services division. This is a transformative opportunity to evolve a systems-focused function into a modern platform engineering capability. You’ll be responsible for managing the flow of work, driving automation through scripting and coding, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Lead the squad’s delivery of VMWare Networking services, ensuring reliability, scalability and security
Shape and execute the product strategy, aligning with broader infrastructure and hosting goals
Champion automation and integration, upskilling the team in coding practices and scripting for operational efficiency
Drive the transformation from traditional systems engineering to a platform engineering approach
Influence team culture, embedding a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation
Manage the ITSM transformation, ensuring alignment with service management best practices
Support the delivery of high-quality technical outcomes that meet business and customer needs
Your Skills and Experience
Strong experience in infrastructure product ownership, ideally within networking or virtualisation domains
Expertise in platform engineering principles and can lead teams through technical transformation
Demonstrated confidence in scripting for the automation of platform tasks and integration practices
Ability to manage and positively influence complex stakeholder relationships across technology, operations and governance
Passionate about building high-performing teams and enabling technical excellence
