Job Purpose
As the Product Owner for Pulse BPI, you will drive the end-to-end InsuranceTech software by managing the backlog, overseeing UX/UI development, and ensuring technical excellence aligns with the company’s strategic vision. You will act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and development teams, utilising market research and performance data to deliver high-quality, competitive solutions that meet rigorous user acceptance standards.
Description of Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. General
● To represent Pulse BPI in a professional and competent manner at all times
● Provide confidential and professional support to the Senior Staff/Management
● To exercise informed and keen professionalism as would be expected of a Product Owner
● Continually seek to improve performance, quality and understanding of work undertaken
● Contribute to the advancement and development of the Company
● Demonstrate a commitment to upholding Pulse BPI’s brand pillars and behavioural standards
● To assist the management team in developing the Company in accordance with the business plan
2. Stakeholder Relationship
● Managing internal and external stakeholders’ relationships
● Strategise and present ideas and initiatives to stakeholders
● Acting as main contact between internal and external teams and stakeholders
● Work with clients to understand their requirements and manage expectations
● Updating relevant stakeholders on new updates and development progress
3. Product Design & Development
● Managing and prioritising product backlog
o Writing and defining user stories
o Estimating and sizing stories to provide accurate timeline and estimations to stakeholders
o Overseeing UX and UI to ensure User stories are implemented to achieve the Pulse BPI Vision.
o Achieving and maintaining software excellence.
● Assisting the scrum/product development team to meet the objectives of each sprint
● Adjusting and improving each iteration of the product before release
● Identify areas for improvement
● Conduct review and analysis of user engagement and interactions with Pulse BPI platform (App)
● Conducting User Acceptance Testing and providing relevant feedback.
● Supervise project development processes with vendors for the successful execution of projects.
● Monitor queue to ensure that all necessary orders are checked and released on time.
● Carry out research on how our solutions are used and suggest ways for solutions improvement and efficiency.
● Constantly perform health-check on the team's established process, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose & manage change(s) where necessary.
4. Industry knowledge and market awareness
● To be well-informed of the industry happenings including local, national and International (selected) markets
● To obtain a comprehensive understanding of the markets trends, needs and drivers to provide sound advice and insights to Pulse BPI stakeholders and team
● Undertake regular qualitative and quantitative research to maintain our understanding of the market trends, needs and drivers
● Conduct research and analysis of best practice products applicable Pulse BPI
● Continual awareness of the competitive landscape
5. Documentation
● Create functional requirements in use cases.
● Co-ordinate requirements walk-through and signoffs, verifying with user representatives/stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately portray specific business needs
● Ensure clean and accurate documentation, including, business requirements, client requirements, functional and non-function technical specifications
● Ensure that all documents are safely kept and accessible for future reference and carry out routine testing of software patches; assist with new releases, and approve all User Acceptance Testing
● Maintain and continuously improve Helpdesk Documentation for your product.
5. Key Performance Measures
1. Delivery of products in line with the target timelines.
2.Product Knowledge and Improvements:
● Full understanding of the product
● Benchmarking against competitors/leaders in other products
● Market research
● Suggestions for product improvements
3. Quality in terms of:
● Product selection, market relevance, product functionality and aesthetics
● Documentation of business requirements
● Customer feedback
4. Leadership and Teamwork:
● Assistance with continued growth of the business
● Contribution to team environment
● Participation at team meetings and discussions
● Contribution to systems improvement and improvement in product quality
5. Self-Definition and Measurement of Product Success:
● Define KPIs specific to the Product’s annual goal (eg: Number of Downloads)
● Create Reporting to measure the nominated KPI for the year
● Report on the status of the Measurements and provide executive summary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
