We have around 5,000 people on six continents. And we’ve been around for over 200 years but keep adapting as society and technology changes. What doesn’t change is our commitment to helping our clients, and society, prosper.

The base

We moved into our new HQ in the City of London in 2018. We’re close to our clients, in the heart of the UK’s financial centre. And we have everything we need to work flexibly.

The team

The Product Strategy team sits within the overall Product division and is responsible for shaping the firm’s product offering and driving innovation to ensure alignment with client needs and the anticipated investment landscape. It is responsible for setting the overall product strategy, defining the product range, identifying opportunities, and working closely with the Investment and Distribution divisions to evolve our strategies and help focus commercial activity. The team leads strategic product initiatives for the firm, owning the process from idea through to execution, working closely with the Product Development and Governance teams to own the Product Lifecycle.

What you’ll do

Analyse client needs, competitive dynamics & the investment context—in collaboration with Distribution, Product, and Investment colleagues—to define our product and solutions range

Proactively provide market intelligence and trends

Ensure Schroders' product set is optimised to meet evolving client demand and stay competitive and relevant against the investment landscape

Analyse Schroders' investment product offerings and compare to competing products to support favourable positioning strategies

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

Relevant experience in financial services or management consulting, ideally in a client-facing, front-office team

Direct knowledge of the asset management industry from a strategic perspective preferred but not essential

Strong data analysis, and presentation skills

Structured approach to solving problems using a data-driven approach and a variety of sources to refine and validate ideas

Proactive team player with a strong commitment to high standards and getting the job done

Excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to establish and maintain productive, cooperative working relationships, and the presence to effectively engage and influence stakeholders

What you’ll be like

Great at working both independently and with other people, sharing and communicating decisions

Highly curious and self-motivated

A critical thinker who's able to look at things from different angles

Strong technical knowledge on market trends and competitor dynamics

Great at unpicking a problem, from start to end, owning and delivering the solution

Comfortable expressing a point of view

Able to work well under pressure, on several priorities at once, and with tight deadlines
