Production Engineer
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with Three (3) TO five (5) years Engineering experience
Required to sit or stand and move about the facility
Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 50 lbs
May be required to use safety glasses and wear steel toe shoes while performing specific tasks or while in specific manufacturing areas
Responsibilities
Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment
Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment
Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results
Create manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs
Gives input to product design based on design for manufacture/design for assembly philosophy
Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency
Develop and document quality system for new programs (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans.)
Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities
Calculate required dunnage usage
Design, test and order all necessary dunnage for new programs
Develop and maintain documentation such as downtime, scrap, and efficiencies
Utilize data such as downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc
to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems
Leads or participates in Kaizen activities to ensure continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with Three (3) TO five (5) years Engineering experience. Experience in automotive manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution.
• Familiarity with current automotive standard and OSHA regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals.
• Must be proficient in MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint. Some Access experience preferred.
