Our Corporate Bank Technology team is a global team of 3000 coders (and growing) across 30 countries. The primary businesses that Corporate Bank support are Cash Management, Securities Services, Trade Finance and Trust & Agency Services. CB Technology support these businesses through CIO aligned teams and by 'horizontals' such as Client Connectivity, Surveillance and Regulatory, Infrastructure, Architecture, Production, and Risk & Control.

Contextual Banking: Financial services are becoming more and more embedded in the life and business process contexts of people and companies (Small, Medium and Large Corporates). This evolution of the market means that Banks and other financial service providers need to deliver their products in an easily consumable and standardized way to encourage easier Customer adoption and integration. This standardization is the steppingstone to be able to become the 'platform of choice' for financial services.

Contextual banking is a SaaS financial product platform revolving around client use cases and or industry specific solutions which will allow DB to not only offer their own products but also external services (ancillary, non-banking) through industry partners and service integrators.

The Contextual Banking initiative will deliver products and services that are easy to integrate, accessible, consumable and allows our clients to integrate more deeply with DB delivering greater value beyond banking. These services will also open new channels to distribute our financial products through Service integrators, partner companies who provide products and services that are closer to the Customer's business context.

Smooth and seamless onboarding of clients onto the contextual banking platform is extremely crucial towards the success of the product and to increase the adoption. This process includes activities like initial client engagements, understanding client ecosystem to arrive at the possible solution approaches, engineering aspects related integration layer between client systems and Contextual Banking platform, data migration and so on.

Role Summary

The Senior Production Engineer is a technical specialist with expertise in one or more technical domain with functional or regional responsibility. Being engaged in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), Production Engineers will contribute effectively to all the phases of the SDLC. Starting with planning phase, Production Engineers will work very closely with the Production Service Transition function to review upcoming changes from production support perspective, make simple to medium complexity code changes, and participate in demos leading all the way up to smooth application transition to Production. They will continually drive automation in production processes ensuring minimal manual processes in day-to-day production support activities.

Your key responsibilities

We are recruiting the production support lead, who will be responsible for running and maintaining the high stability with the applications across the global platforms.

As such the successful candidate will require a strong technical background and a solid appreciation for Production Application Support/Operations experience, with knowledge of SRE / DevOps, Stability / resiliency and be considerate of exceptional client experience.

The role will entail, but is not limited to strong Partnership, Engagement and Influence of development team and their extended teams within CB Technology. A sound appreciation for Business aligned Applications are essential to relate tools, data and process to valuable operational and transformative outcomes. Additionally, working with Deutsche Bank's central engineering teams and other partners to maximize Bank Standard adoption. Driving growth in Organizational capabilities through Innovative ideas, automation, Community Engagement, Training/Skills/Certification that support the Production Engineering goals to support application and business users.

You will be operating within Corporate Bank Production domain as Senior Production Support with SRE, agile and Devops mindsets work closely with business, technology teams and implement Tribe and Squad model.

In this role, you will be accountable to drive a culture of proactive continual improvement into the Production environment through application, user request support, troubleshooting and resolving the errors in production environment. Automation of manual work, monitoring improvements and platform hygiene. Candidate should have experience in all relevant tools used in the Service Operations environment and has specialist expertise in one or more technical domains and ensures that all associated Service Operations stakeholders are provided with an optimum level of service in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) / Operating Level Agreements (OLAs).
• Define our CB Strategic roadmap for production operational tools and drive adoption (AI, ML, Automation, Monitoring & Observability)
• Delivery of Architectural design principles and technical standards that enable ease of adoption and consistent implementation by the extended CIO Technical teams
• Maintain & Develop Operational analytics for performance, control, trend and tool consumption
• Delivery of frameworks to be utilised within the CB broader SRE capabilities
• Thought leadership to drive the evolution of SRE and ensure all areas are meeting core objectives and deliverables
• Provide training / educational materials and forums to develop CB organisational capabilities
• People management with team of ~25 across global
• Leverage / Influence broader organization of SRE's and technologist to build communities that contribute to solutions and implementation
• Build strong Partnership with CIO's and extended CB technology organization
• Influence stakeholders globally (Tech Debt, Efficiency, Culture + Skills agenda)
• Ensure all the BAU support queries from business are handled on priority and within agreed SLA and to ensure all application stability issues are well taken care off.
• Drive major incidents call, providing hands-on leadership to your team and keeping senior stakeholders in Business & Technology up to date on resolution.
• Embrace a Continuous Service Improvement approach to resolve IT failings, drive efficiencies and remove repetition to streamline support activities, reduce risk, and improve system availability.
• Be responsible for your own engineering delivery and using data and analytics, drive a reduction in technical debt across the production environment with development and infrastructure teams.
• Act as a Production Engineering role model to enhance the technical capability of the Production Support teams to create a future operating model embedded with engineering culture.
• Lead by example to drive a culture of proactive continual improvement into the Production environment through automation of manual work, monitoring improvements and platform hygiene.
• Carry out technical analysis of the Production platform to identify and remediate performance and resiliency issues.
• Engage in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to enhance Production Standards and controls.
• Update the RUN Book and KEDB as & when required
• Participate in all BCP and component failure tests based on the run books
• Understand flow of data through the application infrastructure. It is critical to understand the dataflow to best provide operational support
• Event monitoring and management via a 24x7 workbench that is both monitoring and regularly probing the service environment and acting on instruction of a run book.
• Drive knowledge management across the supported applications and ensure full compliance
• Works with team members to identify areas of focus, where training may improve team performance, and improve incident resolution.

Your skills and experience
• Overall IT experience of 15+ years including 5 years+ people/team management including matrix management
• Experience in IT in large corporate environments, specifically in the area of controlled production environments or in Financial Services Technology in a client-facing function
• With SRE mindset and have implemented or aware of SRE, DevOps, agile models will be a plus.
• Experience leading a team and people management
• Global Transaction Banking / Corporate and Investment Banking Experience is a plus.
• Experience of end-to-end Level 2 management and good overview of Production/Operations Management overall
• Experienced managing relationships within all levels of organization, including partner teams
• Deep understanding of application development and/or operational support, with appreciation for Incident, Service Request, change practices and relation to tooling and opportunities
• Experience across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and the associated control gates, advantageous to be familiar or worked with Waterfall, Agile and DevOps - CI/CD and SRE practices
• Experience with complex IT infrastructure (UNIX, Database, Middleware, incl. Cloud and associated native tooling)
• Innovative / Creative technologist passionate about driving strategic transformation of Service Operations & Client Experience
• Articulate and able to work directly with a broad range of stakeholders
• Ability to work with global virtual teams across multiple countries, cultures and time zones
• Able to demonstrate examples of previous successful innovation and delivery
• Educated to degree level (or overseas equivalent)
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix structures
• Working knowledge of incident tracking tools (i.e. Remedy, Heat, Service Now etc.)

Ability to manage Incident management, Problem Management, Incident communication stakeholder engagement in the time crisis or major outages.

Education/Certification
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or IT-related discipline (or equivalent work experience or diploma)
• ITIL Foundation Certificate
• PMP certification from PMI is a plus

Technical Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of databases (Oracle/MSSQL etc. ), including working experience of writing SQL scripts and queries
• Understanding Pre and Post Trade Settlement process, Corporate Actions, Custody and Fund service business awareness would be added advantage
• Working experience on UNIX/Linux, Solaris, Java J2EE, shell scripts, secure connectivity and protocols, Monitoring Tools (Geneos/Splunk), Scheduling Tools (Control-M/AutoSys), ITIL Framework.
• Knowledge of Cloud based technologies (GCP will be added advantage)
• Worked in implementing SRE model or exposed to Agile, Devops and Squad and Tribe model would be beneficial for this role.
