Pheasant Catering, a boutique catering company based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, is hiring a Production & Events Assistant.
Duty Statements
Event Production
Produce some smaller Staffed and Drop-Off Events
o Attend walkthroughs
o Communicate with other departments, including Delivery and Kitchen, to ensure delivery & operations do not pose a conflict
Assist with larger events (Weddings, Fashion House events, Conferences)a
o Work closely with Owner and Sales & Events Manager to plan large and/or intricate events
o Revise estimates with Events Manager and Owner as needed
o Help to coordinate aspects of larger events
o Attend tastings when needed
Eventually run smaller events
Responsible for anticipating all in house and third-party rentals
o Organization of in-house rentals as well as coordination of transportation, delivery and return
Lead Staff and Captain’s meetings for smaller events prior to event to ensure smooth execution
Hand off event packets to Event Runners, Kitchen and Captains
o Kitchen Sheets, Packing Sheets, Floorplans, Service Diagrams, etc.
Handle any and all small event financials and some larger event financials upon request
Update estimates
Create final invoice and follow up with client until final payment is received
Client Relationships
Under supervision of Sales & Events Manager, field smaller Corporate events
o Initial Call
o Respond to all client emails in a timely manner
o Create Estimates + Proposals
Maintain ongoing relationships with clientele
Direct liaison between client and kitchen
Communicate all pertinent details to kitchen succinctly and in a timely manner
Inform kitchen of all changes immediately
Performance Standards
Detail oriented problem solver
Personable, warm and charismatic
Ability to communicate the core values of Pheasant to clients
Working knowledge of Excel
Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
Basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign
Possess the ability to work well with a diverse range of personalities
Self-motivated to learn new programs and software required for the role
Compensation + Benefits
Salary $75K / year
