Job Title: Production General Manager
Location: Warrington
Salary: £55,000
The Client
Our client work within the construction industry and are a leading commercial glazing, cladding and façade manufacturing and installation specialist, they are looking to add a Production General Manager to their team. The Role of Production General Manager
The Production General Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the strategy, financial performance and coordination of all manufacturing, logistics and stock operations within the company production division.
• Oversee daily manufacturing operations ensuring production schedule is met and quality standards maintained
• Lead on continuous improvement of processes and practices incorporating LEAN methodologies.
• Oversight and sign off on updates/changes to procedures, ensuring these are regularly reviewed and updated.
• Continuous improvement of quality assurance procedures and results.
• Day to day oversight of production department including lead for the Goods In/out, logistics and transport
• Ensuring the factory building is fully maintained and kept to latest guidelines, e.g. fire alarm, electrics and general maintenance.
• Knowledge and understanding of the practical fabrication process and machinery
• Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business.
• Where required, develop and present clear proposals for changes within the production area
• Ensure a robust and fully audited/traceable quality system is in place at all times.
• Responsible for all production planning and ensuring that we meet contractual obligations in respect to factory supply
• Maintain good communication with production operatives, management team and other business department’s staff to enable successful co-ordination of scheduling and sharing of information.
Desired Skills & Qualifications of the Production General Manager
• Previous experience leading a manufacturing / production environment
• Aluminium / metal manufacturing an advantage
• Detailed knowledge of LEAN and other manufacturing best practice/strategies, e.g. 5S
• Experience of developing robust quality systems (QMS)
• Experience of continuous improvement and other manufacturing methodologies
• Excellent scope management and change control skills
• Experience of leading a team or division and developing talent
• Experience of developing and implementing SOPs
• An industry/production related qualification
• H&S qualification desirable
• LEAN training
• Ability to organise and delegate effectively
• Use of central IT system, e.g Deltek
• Full driving licence
