Production Manager
Job description
We are seeking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing operations within our clients Window and Door fabricating facility. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality windows, doors, and other fenestration products. You will manage a team of skilled workers, implement production schedules, and uphold safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Production Oversight: Manage day-to-day production operations, ensuring optimal efficiency, minimal waste, and adherence to schedules.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Planning & Scheduling: Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demands and ensure on-time delivery.
• Quality Control: Maintain high standards of product quality by implementing robust quality assurance processes.
• Health & Safety: Enforce compliance with all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
• Resource Management: Monitor the use of materials, equipment, and manpower to optimize production costs.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles.
• Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve production issues to minimize downtime.
• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production metrics, costs, and performance for senior management.
Essential:
• Proven experience in a production management role, ideally within the fenestration or window and door sector.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for windows, doors, or other fenestration products.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a production team effectively.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
• Competence in production scheduling and resource planning.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
Desirable:
• Qualification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and tools.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
