This position is part of Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) organization and falls under Cloud Services team (ECP).
Enterprise Cloud Platforms Team (ECP):
Enterprise Cloud Platforms team in the CTO organization offers Private and Public Cloud platforms for Bank of America’s developers to drive faster time-to-market, innovation with private and public cloud capabilities, and reduce complexity with built-in integrations. Job Description:
We are looking for a passionate, talented Operations Engineer for Hybrid Cloud Container platform running on Openshift 4.X with expertise in container deployment implementations and to provide guidance, operational support, design best practices to enable application workloads to run seamlessly on Red Hat Open shift/Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)/ Kubernetes. Should provide end-to-end support coverage for the platform & work on build, upgrade and maintain OCP clusters. Should have understanding or exposure of agile as well as ITSM incident/change/request management processes. This team will be cloud and container Technology focused leading ongoing transformation of existing applications towards cloud (both internal and external).
Responsibilities:
• Be able to provide technical expertise to Configure, Deploy, and Support Bank workloads to securely run and operate in Container Infra (K8s/RedHat Open Shift/AKS).
• Responsible for engineering of new capabilities to the OpenShift/Container Platforms and delivering those capabilities in a fully automated and supportable fashion.
• Implement cluster services to manage On-Prem Bare Metal Open shift cluster deployments and off-prem deployments.
• Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for cloud platform including writing automation software to deploy the container platform and automate day2 maintenance
• Collaborating with stakeholder teams to evaluate and identify optimal solutions and streamline cloud/Container services
• Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack: hardware, software, application, and network.
• Understanding or exposure of agile as well as ITSM incident/change/request management processes.
• Integrate products and features into existing bank processes, with an eye towards
automation of the process
• Provide guidance on engineering methodologies, CICD pipelines and cloud best practices
• Provide hands on expertise on architecting Cloud native applications
• Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality; Participate, contribute, and train other team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events.
• Build automated deployment/Terraform templates that can be easily used to roll out their own instances.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, and across borders to effectively execute the goals.
• Partner with other technical teams to implement developed solutions/applications in Production environment.

Foundational Skills
• Hands-on experience working on infrastructure Operations, engineering with deep knowledge on Kubernetes and/or Openshift platforms.
• Knowledge of various container runtimes, container constructs in the Linux kernel (namespaces, SE Linux, etc.)
• Strong experience in Linux administration, programming experience in at least one language (Python, Shell scripting, Java etc)
• Expertise in supporting Container production (K8s/RedHat Open shift) environments, and associated maintenance, change control, incident and problem management
• Experience in CICD technologies/tools – Git/Bit bucket, Jenkins, Ansible, ArgoCD, Helm, Container repos, etc.
• Experience with Azure/AWS cloud, Terraform.
• Strong experience in onboarding applications to Multi-clouds – Azure, AWS, GCP, IBM Cloud.
• Experience in building large scale distributed enterprise platforms with focus on performance, scale, security, and reliability
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, specifically as it relates to containers.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision with excellent analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent priorities
Desired Skills
• Expertise with multiple IaC tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, ARM templates.
• Experience in cloud-native network, storage, and virtualization technologies
• Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with IaaS, Config-as-Code, Policy-as-Code, etc.
• Working knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools (Jenkins, XLR)
• Experience in highly regulated environments (Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Government, etc.)
• Broad understanding of infrastructure requirements for integrated enterprise Environments.
• Prior experience on Deployment Automation of workloads, pull image from Private ACR registry and deploy to AKS/Openshift Clusters.
• Expertise in creating Multiple Ansible playbooks for auto-provisioning of AKS, test environments and auto deployment of artifacts.
• RedHat Openshift/Kubernetes Certifications; Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) Certifications.
• Operational Process & Routines: Strong adherence to operating controls, risk management, process review and creation, documentation and collaborative knowledge sharing
• Inter-personal skills and Communication skills/Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change in project scope Familiarity with 12 factor applications, cloud workload management design patterns
Work Timings: 40hrs/week in a Global support Model with weekend on-call support on a rotational basis.
